Procedures that
preserve motion — not just fuse.
Dr. Yasmeh specializes in motion-preserving spine procedures — including cervical laminoplasty, artificial disc replacement, microdiscectomy, and robotic-assisted minimally invasive surgery. Every procedure starts with a careful conversation about whether surgery is truly the best path.

Procedures Dr. Yasmeh performs
- Minimally invasive techniques — small incisions, less tissue damage, faster recovery.
- Motion-preserving — cervical laminoplasty and artificial disc replacement instead of routine fusion.
- Robotic-assisted — computer-guided planning and instrument placement for greater precision.
- Outpatient — many procedures done as same-day discharge with shorter recovery.
- Selective fusion — Dr. Yasmeh only fuses when it's clearly the right answer for stability.

Common questions
About spine procedures.
- Minimally invasive spine surgery (MISS) uses smaller incisions and specialized retractors and instruments to access the spine while sparing muscle and other surrounding tissues. For most patients, that translates into less pain, less blood loss, shorter hospital stays, and faster return to normal activities.
- Yes. Laminoplasty preserves motion at the operated levels by reshaping the back of the vertebrae to create more space for the spinal cord — without joining the bones together. Fusion is sometimes still the right choice, but it permanently eliminates motion at the fused levels. Dr. Yasmeh is among a small percentage of surgeons specifically trained in laminoplasty.
- Robotic spine surgery uses advanced computer-guided technology to plan and place implants with sub-millimeter precision. It does not replace the surgeon — it makes the surgeon more accurate, especially for screw placement and complex deformity cases.
- Many of the procedures Dr. Yasmeh performs are now done as outpatient surgery — meaning you go home the same day. The right setting depends on the procedure, your overall health, and your home support.
